During the beef between Eminem and MGK, the Detroit rapper stated that he had to “destroy” MGK without making him “bigger.” The feud between the two rappers began in 2012, when MGK referred to Eminem’s daughter, Hailie, as “hot.” This did not sit well with Slim Shady, who, in 2018, criticized MGK on the song “Not Alike”, to which MGK responded with the track “Rap Devil”.
The Feud Between Eminem and MGK
Eminem then fired additional shots at MGK. Both artists released diss tracks targeted at one another, after which Eminem sat down with hip-hop aficionado Sway Calloway to shed light on the whole beef. The Detroit rapper stated that he first didn’t want to respond to MGK’s diss because it would give his arch nemesis more exposure. He stated that there were people who don’t do anything but criticize.
Eminem is okay with the fact that people can talk crazy about him, as they have the right to express themselves in their way. However, this gives Em the right to say whatever he wants about them.
The Greatest Rapper Alive?
The 8 Mile star said told Sway that he didn’t hear about MGK’s comments about his daughter much later, saying that he didn’t even know about this until literally a year and a half later. Eminem responded to allegations that he banned MGK from his radio station Shade 45. Em claimed that MGK’s comments on his daughter were not the real reason why he dissed him. He said that he went after MGK because he said he is the greatest rapper alive since his favorite rapper (Eminem) banned him from Shade 45.
In an interview in 2015, MGK was asked about his comments about Eminem’s daughter, Hailie, who was 16 while he was 22. He said that Hailie was beautiful, but with all respect due, Eminem was king. Today, it seems all parties have moved on, MGK is dating Megan Fox even though there were rumors about their break up, and Hailie is engaged to her long-term boyfriend, Evan McClintock.
