Kelly Clarkson’s deluxe version of her Chemistry album will feature a duet with a special guest – her nine-year-old daughter, River Rose. We honestly can’t wait to hear the track! Keep reading for more details about the upcoming album and where you can listen to it.
Kelly Clarkson’s Upcoming Album
Kelly Clarkson revealed on Instagram that the Chemistry (deluxe) album will be out on September 22nd. The American Idol winner’s album can now be pre-ordered on Spotify, Amazon Prime, and Apple Music. River Rose will feature in the song “You Don’t Make Me Cry”.
The first version of Chemistry was released in June and was inspired by the singer’s difficult divorce from music manager Brandon Blackstock. Their marriage lasted nearly seven years before she filed for divorce in June 2020. There was a legal battle over their assets, like her Montana residence and custody of their children, daughter River Rose and seven-year-old son, Remington.
In the end, Clarkson retained custody and agreed to pay Blackstock $115,000 per month until January 2024.
The Tracks on the Album
Since the album was inspired by her breakup, Kelly Clarkson discussed the lyrics of the tracks with Blackstock over a text exchange. She said, “I don’t even remember why or how it happened, but I was like, ‘Hey, I didn’t just diminish us down to one [thing].’ You know what I’m saying? It’s all in there, the ride. The beauty is in there, as well. Now, there’s a lot of pain, but that’s what happens for all of us.”
The singer also shared that her children are becoming fans of her music. She said she doesn’t usually play her songs around them, so they must have heard them from someone else.
Clarkson, currently performing a residency in Las Vegas, also noted that she and her kids are big Harry Styles and Aurora fans.
